College Promenade is one of the smallest BIAs (Business Improvement Areas) in Toronto, but it still has over 130 businesses to visit in its less than 8-block stretch!  Bordered by Havelock and Shaw streets, College Promenade is known for its small, independent businesses. The area recently underwent a major streetscape project, which has revitalized the entire neighbourhood.

Local residents are often found strolling the promenade to partake in unique services and eat everything from sushi to fine Italian.  If you aren’t from the hood, you may not know about the Promenade’s best kept secret: its network of patios!

Taking the 506 TTC streetcar will only give you a glimpse of what College Promenade has to offer.  Like an iceberg, there is so much more below the surface!  Find your next favourite patio in the list below!

At LG Amato Pizza, the patio with classic fixed-table seating is the perfect spot to sit and enjoy a quick slice of pizza and people watch as you enter our neighbourhood to #shopthepromenade.

Regina Trattoria is one of the oldest running restaurants on the Promenade, open since 1967. Not only do their open-air doors allow the fresh air into the dining room on those cooler days, it also has one of the most adorable street-side patios in the hood! It only seats 8, so make sure to get there early for the best seats, before or after you #shopthepromenade!

Just this summer, Pray Tell launched their patio. You can’t see it from the street, though! Step inside, stroll down the side of the building, and arrive at their ‘decked out’ back patio. The perfect place to hide from the hustle of the main street - a fabulous break when you're out to #shopthepromenade.

The Caledonian’s back patio has the perfect combination of stone floors, wooden tables, and live trees. After you #shopthepromenade, their whisky collection gives you the perfect reason to relax and take in the natural shade.

College Promenade is so unique that we even have a STORE with a patio!  Aloja is an independent business focused entirely on beautiful pieces from the new generation of Indian designers. Once you’ve purchased your next favourite piece, ask if you can head out to their garden oasis to snap some shots that are definitely Instagram worthy.  A fabulous reason to #shopthepromenade.

Alchemy has gone all out to keep their patio simple and classy.  With wooden tables and over-stuffed cushions, you can’t help but get comfortable as the sun sets on this west-facing corner spot.  Local beers and special cocktails are a perfect complement to the space, and your newest excuse to #shopthepromenade.

Brass Taps has not one, but TWO patios.  You can choose whether you want to people-watch street-side, or unwind on the back patio.  This neighbourhood pub is a staple, with servers who get to know their regulars’ names and preferred orders. #shopthepromenade and stop in for some classic pub food while you catch up with your besties.

Looking for some Portuguese food AND a patio while you #shopthepromenade?  Look no further than Bairrada.  This BBQ joint has a FOUR THOUSAND square foot back patio!  Perfect if you want to grab a table for two in the corner, or host your next family reunion 😱.

The Abbey Bar & Grill’s patio has space for you and your summer sports team.  After your pickup baseball game in the park, head here for drinks under the umbrellas.

One of our few corporate locations, Starbucks has a patio tucked in behind the building, just off of Dovercourt.  If you need a quick stop while you #shopthepromenade, this tree-dotted patio is the perfect respite.
