Background/Introducton
Art, diversity, multiculturalism and community are some of the major elements that make Toronto special. The year of 2021, Year of Public Art, has been dedicated as the kick-off year for the City’s new 10-Year of Public Art Strategy signaling Toronto’s renewed commitment to public art.
The College Promenade BIA has received a grant of $10000 to create a pubic art installation in our neighbourhood (our boundaries are along College Street between Havelock St and Shaw St).
Our vision is to bring existing customers, new customers and generate some positive buzz for the College Promenade community. As we start to re-open and welcome folks back, we also want to bring some smiles and add an extra element of interest. Incorporating a musical component would be desired, if it aligns with the overall project vision from the artist(s).
A minimum of 3 installations must be created, spread evenly throughout the BIA:
Deadline to Apply: Friday, August 6th at 5pm.
The Finer Details:
This open call is to solicit interested artists, art collectives, curators, groups, etc. to be a part of this project.
